New Content

Hexerei Characters
Klee, Albedo, Mona, Fischl, Razor, Venti, Varka, Durin

Sucrose enables massive Hexerei team buffs while also being a strong buffing option with her EM and gear capabilities. However, with Albedo and Venti, her buffing potential is limited.

Sucrose can also enable Hexerei buffs for Varka and Durin, with Varka being a strong on-field DPS who appreciates having a second Anemo unit, and Durin being a strong off-field Burst DPS and RES Shred unit.

Sucrose’s personal Hexerei buffs are rather small and should not be the main focal point of team building.

Columbina
Columbina and Sucrose form a respectable off-field support core in teams with Lunar-Bloom, Lunar-Charged, or both, through their teamwide Lunar Reaction and EM buffs, respectively. In certain teams, Sucrose can act as an on-field driver, triggering Swirl, Hyperbloom, and Lunar-Charged for extra damage (although another Hydro off-fielder is needed to aid Columbina’s slow Hydro application).

Nefer
Nefer is a Dendro DPS that deals strong on-field Lunar-Bloom damage. Nefer greatly appreciates Sucrose’s large EM buff, and Sucrose can hold 4pc Deepwood Memories for Dendro RES Shred or 4pc Instructor for an additional EM buff.

Flins / Ineffa / Lunar-Charged
Lunar-Charged is a massive shift in Sucrose’s teams featuring Hydro and Electro characters in a special reaction whose damage formula takes all contributors’ stats into account.

Flins and Ineffa are both strong Electro characters that deal Lunar-Charged damage. They appreciate the RES Shred offered by 4pc VV, and Sucrose’s EM buffs increase their teams’ overall DPS.

Mualani
Sucrose is one of Mualani’s best supports because of her RES Shred via 4pc VV and the EM she provides, significantly increasing the Vaporize damage Mualani deals.

Ororon
Ororon is a good teammate in Sucrose’s Electro- and Lunar-Charged teams, with good off-field Electro damage and a 40% Elemental DMG Bonus buff from 4pc Scroll.

Mavuika / Arlecchino / Gaming
These Pyro DPS units can benefit from Sucrose’s RES Shred and EM buffs in their Melt and Vaporize teams.

Clorinde / Sethos
These DPS units have playstyles that benefit from EM buffs and enjoy RES Shred from 4pc VV.
Other DPS UnitsSkirk, Chasca, Varesa, Kinich, Zibai

These DPS characters either have strict team requirements that discourage Anemo characters, cannot make good use of Sucrose’s buffs, or both.

New Catalysts
Sunny Morning Sleep-In, Starcaller’s Watch, Nightweaver’s Looking Glass, Etherlight Spindlelute, Blackmarrow Lantern

These new weapons provide Sucrose with a large amount of EM, with 5-stars giving slightly more.

Sunny Morning Sleep-In is the most notable as it is Sucrose’s new best-in-slot option for her on-field playstyle and a competitive option for her off-field playstyle.

New Artifact Sets
Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City, Silken Moon’s Serenade

These new artifact sets are niche, but allow Sucrose to more viably slot into more team archetypes.

Character Overview

Playstyles

On-Field Driver

As an on-field driver, Sucrose uses Normal and Charged Attacks to apply Anemo to enemies and proc effects that trigger with Normal Attacks, e.g. Xingqiu’s, Yelan’s, or Beidou’s Burst effects. This allows her to trigger multiple instances of Swirl, which in turn can cause chain reactions like Electro-Charged, Lunar-Charged, and Hyperbloom. These reactions all benefit from Sucrose’s high EM, and the chain reactions can trigger reaction-based passives like Fischl’s A4 Passive and Ororon’s A1 Passive.

Off-Field Support

As an off-field support, Sucrose swaps in to use her Skill, Burst, or both, before yielding field time to another character on your team. Her role is to provide grouping and EM buffs, as well as shred enemy Elemental RES and provide an ATK buff through 4pc VV and TTDS, respectively.

Talents

Level and Talent Priority

Level 90 >> (Skill > Burst > Normal Attack)

In both playstyles, Sucrose does most of her damage through Transformative Reactions. These scale only with Sucrose’s character level and EM. Therefore, her Talent levels are unimportant. Players should prioritize raising Sucrose to Level 90 if she triggers a substantial amount of Swirl and chain reactions in her team.

Talent Overview

Normal Attack
Normal Attack | Wind Spirit Creation

Normal Attack
Performs up to 4 attacks using Wind Spirits, dealing Anemo DMG.

Charged Attack
Consumes a certain amount of Stamina and deals AoE Anemo DMG after a short casting time.

Plunging Attack
Calling upon the power of her Wind Spirits, Sucrose plunges towards the ground from mid-air, damaging all opponents in her path. Deals AoE Anemo DMG upon impact with the ground.

Sucrose’s Normal Attack is a 4-hit combo with relatively low base damage. Her Charged Attack is a bit stronger with decent range and knockback.

Note that Normal and Charged Attacks have separate Internal Cooldowns (ICD), meaning that using a mix of NAs and CAs while on-field can allow her to trigger more reactions.

Elemental Skill
Elemental Skill | Astable Anemohypostasis Creation — 6308

Creates a small Wind Spirit that pulls opponents and objects towards its location, launches opponents within its AoE, and deals Anemo DMG.

Sucrose creates a small field in front of her that deals Anemo damage and briefly pulls enemies together within the AoE. This can also stagger certain enemies. Each cast of Sucrose’s Skill applies Anemo.

Elemental Burst
Elemental Burst | Forbidden Creation — Isomer 75 / Type IIName

Sucrose hurls an unstable concoction that creates a Large Wind Spirit.
While it persists, the Large Wind Spirit will continuously pull in surrounding opponents and objects, launch nearby opponents, and deal Anemo DMG.

Elemental Absorption
If the Wind Spirit comes into contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro energy, it will deal additional Elemental DMG of that type.

Elemental Absorption may only occur once per use.

Sucrose tosses a projectile that summons a large Wind Spirit (Crystalfly). The Wind Spirit pulses at intervals, deals Anemo damage in a large AoE, and pulls enemies towards its center.
Upon contact with a Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro aura, the Wind Spirit can absorb that Element and deal additional damage of that Element with each pulse. The Wind Spirit can only absorb one Element per cast, and the Element absorbed tends to be inconsistent.

Ascension 1 Passive
Ascension 1 Passive | Catalyst Conversion

When Sucrose triggers a Swirl effect, all characters in the party with the matching element (excluding Sucrose) have their Elemental Mastery increased by 50 for 8s.

When Sucrose Swirls an Element on an enemy, all teammates of the same Element gain 50 EM for 8s. Sucrose does not need to be on-field for this passive to take effect, and the Swirl can be triggered by any aspect of her kit. Buffs for multiple Elements can co-exist.

Ascension 4 Passive
Ascension 4 Passive | Mollis Favonius

When Astable Anemohypostasis Creation – 6308 or Forbidden Creation – Isomer 75 / Type II hits an opponent, increases all party members’ (excluding Sucrose) Elemental Mastery based on 20% of Sucrose’s Elemental Mastery for 8s.

When Sucrose hits an enemy with her Skill or Burst, she grants 20% of her own EM to all teammates (excluding herself) for 8s.

Witch’s Eve Rite Passive
Witch’s Eve Rite Passive | Sevenfold Transmutation

After completing Witch’s Homework: Of Wonderland Flowers, Sucrose will become a Hexerei character. When the party includes at least 2 Hexerei characters, you will gain the Hexerei: Secret Rite effect, which enhances Hexerei characters.

Hexerei: Secret Rite
After creating a Small Wind Spirit, nearby party members’ Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Plunging Attack, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst DMG are increased by 5.71428% for 15s.
After creating a Large Wind Spirit, nearby Hexerei party members’ Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Plunging Attack, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst DMG are increased by 7.14285% for 20s.

After completing her Witch’s Homework and related quests, Sucrose can enable very valuable Hexerei passives for other Hexerei characters. She personally only gets very minor passives, so it is generally not worth pairing with Hexerei teammates solely for enabling the following passives:

  • After using Sucrose’s Skill, all party members gain a 5.71428% DMG Bonus for 15s.
  • After using Sucrose’s Burst, all Hexerei party members gain 7.14285% DMG Bonus for 20s.
  • These buffs apply to Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Plunging Attack, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst damage.

Constellations

Constellation 1
Constellation 1 | Clustered Vacuum Field

Astable Anemohypostasis Creation – 6308 gains 1 additional charge.

Sucrose’s first Constellations grants her Elemental Skill an additional charge (for a total of two charges). Her Skill always applies Anemo on-hit, so this can result in an additional Swirl; it also means another instance of particle generation.

This is Sucrose’s best Constellation.

Constellation 2
Constellation 2 | Beth: Unbound Form

The duration of Forbidden Creation – Isomer 75 / Type II is increased by 2s.

Sucrose’s C2 increases her Burst duration by 2s. This translates to one more pulse of her Wind Spirit.

Constellation 3
Constellation 3 | Flawless Alchemistress

Increases the Level of Astable Anemohypostasis Creation – 6308 by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Adds 3 Talent levels to Sucrose’s Skill.

Constellation 4
Constellation 4 | Alchemania

Every 7 Normal and Charged Attacks, Sucrose will reduce the CD of Astable Anemohypostasis Creation – 6308 by 1-7s.

Sucrose’s C4 enables every 7th Normal or Charged Attack to decrease her Skill cooldown by 1–7s.

This only benefits on-field Sucrose and lets her use her Skill more frequently.

Constellation 5
Constellation 5 | Caution: Standard Flask

Increases the Level of Forbidden Creation – Isomer 75 / Type II by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Adds 3 Talent levels to Sucrose’s Burst.

Constellation 6
Constellation 6 | Chaotic Entropy

If Forbidden Creation – Isomer 75 / Type II triggers an Elemental Absorption, all party members gain a 20% Elemental DMG Bonus for the corresponding absorbed element, and nearby Hexerei characters in the party gain an additional 8.57142% Elemental DMG Bonus for the corresponding absorbed element during its duration.

With Sucrose’s C6 unlocked, if her Burst absorbs an Element, then teammates of the same Element receive a 20% Elemental DMG Bonus for the Burst’s duration.

After obtaining her Witch’s Eve Rite Passive, all Hexerei units will also gain an additional 8.57142% Elemental DMG Bonus of the absorbed Element.
It is difficult to consistently absorb the desired Element, so this effect should not be relied on in typical gameplay. Read the Sucrose Extended Guide for more details on her Burst Absorption.

On-Field Driver

N / C / E spamUse Case: Flexible On-Field Combo

As an on-field driver, Sucrose can just spam Normal and Charged Attacks in any way that feels comfortable. Weaved with her Skill, this should allow for plenty of Swirls.
N4Use Case: Triggering Effects with Normal Attacks

If there are teammates whose Talent effects proc with Normal Attacks (e.g., Xingqiu, Beidou, C6 Fischl), then it is perfectly fine to forgo Charged Attacks.
N2WUse Case: Driving Beidou Burst or Maximizing C4

Sucrose’s optimal attack string for driving Beidou’s Burst is N2 walk cancel. It can consistently yield up to 12 procs of Beidou’s Burst. This string is also the fastest way to proc Sucrose’s C4 effect.

Off-Field Support

E(D) (Q)Use Case: Default Support Combo

This is Sucrose’s combo when used as an off-field support. She casts her Skill, then Burst to funnel particles to herself.

Dashing after her Skill slightly lowers her field time and improves survivability, but may be excluded if teammates have heavy Stamina usage.

Some teams may wish not to use her Burst to avoid unwanted Elemental Application.

Consecutive Skill casts allowed by her C1 and Sacrificial Fragments are generally not recommended as they do negligible damage, do not provide additional buffs, and increase field time, which can mess up rotations.
(Q) E(D)Use Case: Funneling Particles

Sucrose’s Skill can be used to funnel Anemo Particles to the next teammate. This is commonly used to battery Xiao.

Using her Burst is optional, and as above, dashing after her Skill is helpful.

Artifacts

ER Requirements

Sucrose’s teams generally do not require her to use her Burst. In teams that make time for it, her Burst is used whenever it’s ready.

Use the Energy Recharge Calculator to determine exact requirements for your team and rotation. For more details on how Favonius weapons will affect your team, please use Ac1d’s Favonius Mastersheet.

Artifact Stats

Sands

Goblet

Circlet
EMEMEM

Stat Priority: EM > ER > CRIT Rate (Favonius)

EM main stats and substats should be prioritized for her A4 Passive’s buff, as well as increasing Transformative Reaction damage.

In teams where Sucrose uses her Burst, ER substats are appreciated, but not required. CRIT Rate substats are necessary if Sucrose holds Favonius Codex, but a CRIT Rate Circlet should not be used over an EM Circlet. CRIT substats slightly increase team Lunar-Charged damage, but otherwise, CRIT and ATK substats are not required as they only increase Sucrose’s DPS by a negligible amount.

Artifact Sets

Hover over artifact images for more information.

4pc Viridescent Venerer (VV)
Sucrose should generally hold 4pc VV to bolster her own damage and shred enemy Elemental RES. No other artifact set comes close to its damage and utility.

4pc Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City (Scroll)
Sucrose can provide a 12% Anemo DMG Bonus if you use her to battery Anemo carries, provided you can trigger a reaction on her. However, 4pc VV is usually preferred if there is another teammate like Furina who has high personal damage.

4pc Deepwood Memories / 4pc Instructor / 4pc Silken Moon’s Serenade (SMS)
Sucrose can hold any of these sets in Dendro teams, depending on what sets other teammates already hold, since Dendro cannot be Swirled.

Weapons

EM Catalyst

These weapons provide a high amount of EM, which increases Sucrose’s reaction damage and EM buff. Sacrificial Fragments and Wandering Evenstar also offer team utility.

5★ Sunny Morning Sleep-In
Best for on-field driver Sucrose.

Sunny Morning Sleep-In provides Sucrose with a large amount of personal EM with its passive. Off-field, its passive generally has inconsistent uptime, so the performance gap between it and other weapons shrinks.

Despite Sunny Morning Sleep-In being best-in-slot for on-field Sucrose, other options are competitive, and it is often more impactful for team DPS to pull for Constellations or signature weapons for other characters.

4★ Sacrificial Fragments
Sacrificial Fragments provides high EM and another Skill charge. This results in more Anemo application, grouping, and particle generation, which lowers Sucrose’s ER requirements.

5★ A Thousand Floating Dreams / Starcaller’s Watch / Nightweaver’s Looking Glass
These 5-star EM catalysts perform similarly to each other and Sacrificial Fragments, but lack the utility offered by the additional Skill use from Sacrificial Fragments.

The passive of Floating Dreams provides 96 EM when Sucrose plays with three teammates of non-Anemo Elements (usually the case), Starcaller’s passive provides 100 EM unconditionally, and Nightweaver’s passive provides 60 EM when teammates trigger Lunar-Bloom, but should not dictate Sucrose’s teams, as it is only a slight buff.

Floating Dream’s passive also provides Sucrose’s teammates with a 40 EM buff.

4★ Wandering Evenstar
Wandering Evenstar provides an ATK% buff to the entire team and doesn’t require strict rotations (as opposed to TTDS). Its EM secondary stat is also appreciated.

In general, Wandering Evenstar can perform on par with TTDS if Sucrose’s entire team scales with ATK, and it can surpass TTDS if the damage contribution is split evenly between each teammate.

4★ Etherlight Spindlelute / Blackmarrow Lantern
These F2P 4-star weapons both provide Sucrose with a large amount of EM. However, they are less viable than the options mentioned above.

Blackmarrow Lantern’s Bloom DMG Bonus does not apply to any of Sucrose’s Hyperbloom damage.

3★ Magic Guide
Magic Guide possesses an EM secondary stat; while it performs worse than the other options, it is still perfectly viable in either playstyle.

Utility Catalyst

These weapons focus on team utility instead of EM. They can be the best option in some teams despite not providing Sucrose with EM. Weapons with ER secondary stats and Prototype Amber’s Energy regeneration passive help Sucrose Burst more often, but should not be equipped solely for that reason.

3★ Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers (TTDS)
R5 TTDS is one of Sucrose’s best options for buffing an ATK-scaling DPS.

TTDS requires careful rotation planning since its buff only applies to the character who swaps in immediately after Sucrose.

4★ Hakushin Ring
R5 Hakushin Ring is a competitive option in teams with Electro characters, especially Aggravate.

Sucrose must be on-field to trigger the passive effect, which grants a teamwide DMG Bonus: Electro DMG% by default, Hydro DMG% with Electro-Charged Swirls, and Dendro DMG% with an Aggravated Swirl. Elements involved in chain reactions can also trigger the passive (such as Pyro in Overvape teams).

4★ Favonius Codex
Favonius Codex is viable, but often falls behind due to other weapons being more useful and other teammates being more suited to hold Favonius weapons. In any case, it can help alleviate ER requirements for Sucrose’s teammates. Some CRIT Rate substats are necessary to trigger the passive reliably, but you should still use an EM Circlet.

4★ Prototype Amber
R5 Prototype Amber can be used if you struggle to survive in a team without a healer, or to stack Fanfare quicker for Furina. It grants a small amount of teamwide healing, but it overall hinders her ability to buff the team.

Teambuilding

  • On-Field Driver: Sucrose can serve as an on-field driver in Quicken, Hyperbloom, Electro-, and Lunar-Charged archetypes, provided all of her teammates are off-field units.
  • Off-Field Support: Sucrose is an off-field support in teams with a dedicated on-fielder (usually Quicken, Vaporize, Melt, or Lunar teams).
  • Other Teams: Some team options are not mentioned here for a variety of reasons.
    • Overvape (Soup): Teams like Sukokomon are better explained in the Xiangling Extended Guide.
    • Xiao: For Xiao teams with Sucrose as a battery, please refer to the Xiao Extended Guide.
    • Freeze: Sucrose’s EM buff does not benefit Freeze teams, but her ability to hold Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers makes her a viable option if you lack other Anemo characters like Kazuha, Venti, or Heizou.
    • Reverse Melt: Sucrose is not recommended in Reverse Melt teams for primarily two reasons: it is often difficult or impossible to trigger Cryo Swirls in subsequent rotations, and Sucrose usually takes the place of a character who better serves the team.
  • Teammates who hold Favonius weapons are appreciated as they allow Sucrose to Burst more often, but are not required.

Notable Teammates

Pyro

Notable Archetype(s): Vaporize, Forward Melt, Overvape

Klee / Yoimiya / Yanfei / Hu Tao
These on-field DPS units are best supported by Sucrose when they deal Vaporize damage, whether that be enabled by a Double Hydro core or a Hydro-Electro core.

Notably, playing Sucrose with Klee enables the Hexerei: Secret Rite, increasing Klee’s overall DPS greatly and lessening her clunkiness.

Mavuika / Gaming
Mavuika and Gaming are on-field DPS characters that deal massive Melt damage, buffed by Sucrose and enabled by an off-field Cryo character. Mavuika may also be played off-field in Sucrose’s driver teams, but this generally yields less DPS and is not recommended

When playing Mavuika with Sucrose instead of a Natlan support, Mavuika can have trouble generating Fighting Spirit, especially in teams with rotations that end quickly.

Arlecchino
Arlecchino is a strong on-field Pyro character whose flexible Normal Attack string allows her to fit into both Vaporize and Melt archetypes. Sucrose can support Arlecchino through her EM buff, ATK% buff from TTDS, and RES Shred from 4pc VV.

Durin
Durin is a powerful Burst DPS and RES Shred character who can be an off-field support or DPS.

Thanks to Hexerei: Secret Rite, playing Sucrose with him further increases his Vaporize and Melt damage in his Dark form, and his RES Shred in his White form.

Sucrose and Durin can fit into many teams; Sucrose can buff Durin’s Transformative Reactions while a Hydro or Cryo on-fielder enables him, Sucrose can deal large amounts of Swirl damage on-field while Durin deals noticeable Vaporize damage off-field using a Hydro-Electro teammate core (forming Sucrose Overvape), or Sucrose and Durin can both act as supports for an on-fielder.

Xiangling
Xiangling is a free off-field damage dealer, with a high rate of Pyro application, allowing on-fielders to trigger the Vaporize reaction. She can be played to enable said reaction or with Sucrose in Overvape teams (like Sukokomon) or Sucrose National.

Some Anemo units, like Sucrose, also have a special interaction with Xiangling’s Guoba (known as Guoba Swirl). For more information on Sukokomon, National (with and without Sucrose), and Guoba Swirl, please refer to the XIangling Extended Guide.

Hydro

Notable Archetype(s): Electro- and Lunar-Charged, Hyperbloom, Quickbloom, Vaporize, Lunar-Bloom, Overvape

Mualani
Mualani is a strong on-field Hydro character who deals damage through powerful Forward Vaporize Normal Attacks. Sucrose’s RES Shred via 4pc VV and the EM she provides significantly increases the Vaporize damage Mualani deals.

Neuvillette / Kamisato Ayato / Sangonomiya Kokomi / Tartaglia
These on-field DPS units deal good personable damage and can take advantage of Sucrose’s EM buffs when dealing Forward Vaporize damage enabled by Xiangling. They can also act as on-field enablers, allowing off-field teammates to trigger reactions like Hyperbloom, Electro-, and Lunar-Charged. Kokomi also provides healing for survivability and Furina Fanfare stacking.

Additionally, Kokomi can be played off-field in Hyperbloom, Lunar-Bloom, Electro- and Lunar-Charged, and Neuvillette can be played in Mono Hydro. Despite Sucrose’s EM buffs generally not benefiting him anymore, her low field time and RES Shred from 4pc VV turn this into a very viable playstyle. Furina is also a powerful support for Neuvillette in this playstyle.

Mona
Mona is an exceptional support who can be played both off-field and on-field.

When she is played with Sucrose, Hexerei: Secret Rite is activated, and her kit gains massive buffs; Her full buffing potential, including a DMG Bonus buff and damage buffs to Hydro-related reactions, is enhanced.

She is best utilized as an off-field support for strong Forward Vaporize units like Mualani, or as an on-field enabler for Durin’s strong Reverse Vaporize damage. She can also be played as an off-field support for Sucrose’s driver archetype.
Columbina / AinoThese characters are good off-field Nod-Krai supports, applying Hydro from off-field and, when played with a Nod-Krai DPS, can activate Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam for Nod-Krai character passives, weapon passives, and artifact set effects. Columbina buffs Lunar Reaction damage through her Burst and Moonsign Benediction Passive, and while Aino does not have any Lunar Reaction damage buffs in her base kit (she does at C1 and C6), she is still a perfectly viable support option.

Sigewinne
Sigewinne’s Hydro application, small DMG increase to off-field Skill damage, and both survivability and Furina Fanfare stacking through her healing make her a viable off-fielder.

She can be played in on-field driver Sucrose teams, or she can work with Sucrose to support other on-fielders in Hyperbloom, Lunar-Bloom, Electro- or Lunar-Charged teams.

Furina
Furina is a powerful off-field support with sizable personal damage. She provides Hydro application and damage off-field through her Skill, and a teamwide DMG Bonus through her Burst, the former being able to drain her and her teammates’ HP while the latter records the loss and gain of the HP of her and her teammates (Fanfare), granting the teamwide DMG Bonus accordingly.

Furina should be played with a healer to counteract her HP drain and to stack Fanfare. She works well when played in Sucrose’s driver teams, works well alongside Sucrose supporting Neuvillette in Mono Hydro teams, and works well in Quickbloom teams.

Candace
Candace is an off-field Hydro support with a Hydro Infusion, allowing her Sword, Claymore, and Polearm teammates to apply Hydro through their Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, and Plunging Attacks; this is further complemented by the Normal Attack DMG Bonus buff she can provide while her Burst is active.

Candace works well in Hyperbloom, Electro- and Lunar-Charged, and one of her most synergistic teammates is Yaoyao.

Yelan / Xingqiu
Yelan and Xingqiu are off-field units that deal high single-target damage through coordinated attacks, applying Hydro for both Sucrose and their teammates to trigger reactions. Notably, Xingqiu is a good F2P option who also provides a bit of defensive utility.

These units can be played with Sucrose as the driver, or with someone else as the driver.

Anemo

Notable Archetype(s): None

Varka
Varka is an on-field Hexerei DPS that wants both a Hexerei teammate and an Anemo teammate, both of which Sucrose fulfills. Unlike most other Anemo DPS units, Varka deals mainly PHEC damage (two-thirds). These two facts make Sucrose a very good option for Varka. Despite generally not benefiting from her EM buffs, she can make use of her short field time requirement, RES Shred from 4pc VV, and ATK% buff from TTDS to buff him.

Electro

Notable Archetype(s): Electro- and Lunar-Charged, Quicken, Hyperbloom, Quickbloom, Overvape

Razor / Clorinde / Raiden Shogun / Keqing
These on-field Electro DPS units generally prefer pure Pyro-Electro Overloaded teams with Chevreuse, but Sucrose can be used alongside these units in Quicken teams. Raiden can also be played as an effective off-field Hyperbloom trigger and Quickbloom unit.

Playing Razor and Sucrose together activates Hexerei: Secret Rite, boosting Razor’s damage output by a large amount and alleviating his ER requirements.

Flins
Flins is a strong on-field Lunar-Charged DPS. He should be played with at least one other Nod-Krai character to unlock his kit’s full potential. Sucrose buffs his Lunar-Charged damage and his team’s Lunar-Charged damage through her EM buffs, RES Shred from 4pc VV, and ATK% buff from TTDS or Wandering Evenstar.

Sethos / Cyno
These EM-scaling on-field characters work well with Sucrose in Quicken teams, buffed by her EM buffs and RES Shred from 4pc VV.

Cyno can also be played as a Hyperbloom trigger, or in Quickbloom teams.

Fischl / Beidou
These F2P characters provide substantial personal damage and Electro application, making them powerful DPS off-fielders.

Fischl, when played with Sucrose, can take advantage of Hexerei: Secret Rite, granting her the ability to provide ATK% and EM buffs when teammates trigger Overloaded and Electro- or Lunar-Charged, respectively.

Fischl and Beidou can be played in conjunction with Sucrose to support teammates in Quicken, Hyperbloom, Electro- or Lunar-Charged teams, or can be played in teams where Sucrose is the driver.

Ineffa / Ororon
These units specialize in Electro-Charged, Lunar-Charged, or both, applying Electro and dealing sizable personal damage while off-field.

Ineffa works best in a team with at least one other Nod-Krai character, and Ineffa and Ororon both work best in teams that trigger Electro- or Lunar-Charged, whether that be with Sucrose as the driver or another character on-field.

Dori / Yae Miko / Lisa
These characters are viable Electro DPS characters who deal Electro damage and apply Electro off-field for other characters to trigger Elemental Reactions. Specifically, Dori and Lisa utilize their Bursts for Electro application; they generally have high ER requirements, so bringing teammates that use Favonius weapons or Electro batteries is helpful. Lisa’s Burst also has the rare debuff of DEF Shred.

Dori and Lisa can work in all Electro archetypes, Yae Miko works best in Quicken teams, and all three can also be slotted into Sucrose’s driver teams.

Kuki Shinobu
Kuki Shinobu is a good off-field Electro support, with Electro application and healing for Furina Fanfare stacking and survivability.

She is an effective teammate in Quicken, Hyperbloom, and Quickbloom.

Dendro

Notable Archetype(s): Quicken, Hyperbloom, Quickbloom, Lunar-Bloom

Nefer / Alhaitham / Tighnari
Nefer, Alhaitham, and Tighnari are EM-scaling on-fielders, and as such, benefit from Sucrose’s EM buffs.

Nefer should be played in Lunar-Bloom with at least one other Nod-Krai character, Alhaitham can be played in Aggravate, Hyperbloom, or Quickbloom, and Tighnari should be played in Aggravate.

Lauma
Lauma is the premier Bloom and Lunar-Bloom support, having the ability to provide Bloom reaction and Lunar-Bloom damage buffs, Bloom reaction and Lunar-Bloom CRIT buffs, a Lunar-Bloom Base DMG buff, Dendro RES Shred, as well as off-field Dendro application.

In her Hyperbloom teams, she would ideally be the only Nod-Krai character to capitalize on her Bloom reaction damage and Bloom reaction CRIT buffs; however, she may be assisted by Ineffa and Columbina or a highly invested Columbina, losing out on Bloom damage but gaining the previously mentioned units’ high personal damage. Lauma is also an exceptional support for Nefer in Lunar-Bloom teams.

Kirara / Yaoyao
These 4-star Dendro characters can be played both on-field and off-field, providing Dendro application and survivability through their kits. Yaoyao’s survivability is in the form of healing, so she also helps with stacking Furina’s Fanfare.

Kirara and Yaoyao can work in Quicken, Hyperbloom, and Lunar-Bloom. Furthermore, Yaoyao’s on-field playstyle makes her a synergistic teammate for Candace’s Hydro Infusion.

Baizhu / Nahida
Baizhu and Nahida provide Dendro application and buffing (Nahida’s buff generally being more effective), making them notable Dendro supports. They can be played both off-field and on-field, and Baizhu also provides a good amount of healing for survivability and stacking Furina’s Fanfare.

They can be played in Quicken, Hyperbloom, or Lunar-Bloom teams

Emilie / Collei / Dendro Traveler
These Dendro off-fielders are viable enablers due to their Dendro application, but are generally less effective than other options due to their lack of supportive capabilities in their base kits. Dendro Traveler can provide a small EM buff and, through their C6, a small Dendro, Hydro, or Electro DMG Bonus buff.

Emilie becomes more viable at C2, shredding enemy Dendro RES, and Collei becomes more viable at C2, C4, and C6, which are mostly quality-of-life improvements.

These three units slot into the Aggravate, Hyperbloom, and Lunar-Bloom archetypes feasibly.

Cryo

Notable Archetype(s): Forward Melt

Citlali / Rosaria
These off-field Cryo appliers have consistent Cryo Application that can enable on-field Pyro DPS units to deal high amounts of Forward Melt damage, which is then increased thanks to buffs provided by their kits and Sucrose’s.

Citlali provides a powerful DMG Bonus buff with 4pc Scroll, Pyro RES Shred, and a shield for sustain. Rosaria provides a rare CRIT Rate buff with her A4 Passive, which is useful, but can lead to wasted stats if CRIT Rate becomes overcapped.

These units can also work in Sucrose’s driver archetype, and Citlali can also work as an on-field enabler for Durin.

Layla / Ganyu / Diona / Kaeya
These off-fielders generally don’t have enough Cryo application by themselves to enable consistent Forward Melt damage for on-field Pyro DPS units. However, they can be used alongside each other or previous options for more consistent application and for the Cryo Resonance.

Moreover, Layla can provide a shield for survivability, and Diona can provide a shield and healing for survivability.

These units can, like the previous options, also work in Sucrose’s driver teams.

Electro-Charged / Lunar-Charged

Sucrose — Hydro — Electro — Flex

Electro-Charged (sometimes referred to as “Taser”) is a standard on-field driver archetype for Sucrose. The flex slot is usually a second Electro character, but other options exist, such as Pyro, Geo, or another Hydro. Sucrose can maximize her Electro-Charged reaction ownership on teams with units that have single-target Elemental Application. Sucrose is played off-field when played alongside dedicated on-field units.

Electro-Charged is turned into Lunar-Charged if any of Flins, Columbina, or Ineffa are in the team, which summons a thundercloud that deals consistent Lunar-Charged damage to enemies afflicted with Electro and Hydro.

Lunar-Charged damage scales off the stats of the entire team, so Sucrose’s EM buffs will be especially valuable.Learn more about Lunar-Charged details here.

Example Teams

This is not a comprehensive list of teams. The inclusion or exclusion of any given team does not necessarily reflect its power level.

Sucrose — Columbina — Flins — Ineffa

Flins’s best team, featuring Sucrose as the best Anemo support for Lunar-Charged teams. If Columbina and Ineffa use their Burst every other rotation, alternate them to keep the rotation length consistent. If they use their Bursts every rotation, omit the last few Normal Attacks of Flins’s attack string.

Sample Rotation
Ineffa E (Q)1 > Columbina E (Q)1 > Sucrose ED/Q2 N1 > Flins combo > Sucrose (ED)3 N3D (N3C)4

1Alternate between their Bursts.
2Burst whenever available; otherwise, use Skill.
3Use when Sucrose can cast either her Skill or her Burst in the next rotation.
4Use to fill up the downtime if Ineffa does not use her Burst in the next rotation

Sucrose — Xingqiu — Fischl — Beidou

This is the prototypical Sucrose Electro-Charged team. Xingqiu’s and Beidou’s combined defensive utility is enough to survive most content. There are many possible variations of this team’s rotation. Using Sucrose’s N2W combos maximizes the amount of procs of Beidou’s Burst driving Beidou’s Burst. Sucrose can typically get in 10–12 N2W combos per rotation.

Sample Rotation
Xingqiu E(D)Q (N1) > Beidou E(D)Q > Fischl (N1) E > Sucrose EQ N-spam1 > Beidou E N2 > Fischl Q > Sucrose E N-spam1

1Sucrose should use her Normal Attacks until roughly when Oz disappears.

Sucrose — Columbina — Ineffa — Fischl / Yelan

Sucrose generally drives more effectively when using her N4 combo due to Yelan’s and C6 Fischl’s coordinated attacks. Fischl and Yelan both offer sizable off-field damage, with Fischl being the better option as her EM buffs are more impactful than Yelan’s DMG Bonus buff to Sucrose.

Sample Rotation (Fischl)
Fischl E N1 > Columbina E Q > Ineffa E N1 > Sucrose N1 EDQ N4 combo > Fischl N1 Q > Columbina N2 > Ineffa Q > Sucrose (ED) N4 combo1

Sample Rotation (Yelan)
Yelan E Q > Columbina N1 E Q > Ineffa N1 E (Q)2 > Sucrose N1 ED (Q) > Yelan N1 E > Sucrose N4 combo3

1Until Oz leaves the field
2Burst if available
3Until Yelan has her Burst

Sucrose — Yelan — Fischl — Xingqiu

This is a Double Hydro Electro-Charged team with strong single-target damage. This team lacks defensive utility outside of Xingqiu, so careful positioning, dodging, and i-framing is necessary to survive.

Sample Rotation
Fischl Q > Xingqiu ED Q N1 > Yelan E N1 Q N1 > Sucrose N1 ED Q/N21 > Fischl E N1 > Sucrose combo > Yelan E N1 > Sucrose combo

1Burst if available, N2 otherwise.
Yelan can use her Skill twice per rotation here.

Sucrose — Neuvillette — Ineffa — Columbina

This Neuvillette team focuses less on his personal damage to emphasize LC damage instead, as opposed to the Furina variant mentioned below.

If Ineffa chooses to Burst every rotation for full LC uptime, Kitain Cross Spear is a good option for her.Furina may replace Columbina, which is especially viable when Neuvillette is at higher investment levels. Aino, Mona, and Yelan may also replace Columbina, although generally at lower potency. Rotations for these substitutions may be found here.

Sample Rotation
Neuvillette E N1 > Columbina E Q > Ineffa E(Q)1 > Sucrose ED Q / N22 > Neuvillette C Q E C > Sucrose ED / N23 > Neuvillette 2[C]

1Burst if available.
²Burst if available, N2 otherwise.
³Skill if available, N2 otherwise.

Quicken

Sucrose — Dendro — Electro — Electro

Sucrose is an excellent choice in Quicken teams thanks to her EM buff, 4pc VV RES Shred, and her ability to hold Catalysts like Hakushin Ring or TTDS. She serves as either an on-field driver or an off-field support, depending on her teammates.

Example Teams

Sucrose — Kirara — Keqing — Fischl

This is a standard Keqing Aggravate team with a 15s rotation. Sucrose is an off-field support, Kirara provides a shield and Dendro application to enable Quicken, and Fischl provides off-field Electro damage. This rotation assumes 4pc Thundering Fury on Keqing. You can start the rotation with Keqing’s Skill if you need to apply an Electro aura. Kirara uses her Burst if she holds 4pc Noblesse Oblige.

Sample Rotation
(Keqing E) > Sucrose ED (Q) > Kirara (Q) shE > Fischl Q/E > Keqing E Q E N1C N1 2[E] 3[N1C]

Sucrose — Nahida — Clorinde / Sethos — Fischl

This is a viable sustainless Quicken team with Fischl and the on-field DPS doing a large amount of Electro damage. Clorinde’s rotation assumes she uses 4pc Thundering Fury.

If more sustain is needed, Nahida can hold Prototype Amber. Additionally, Nahida can be replaced with Yaoyao or Baizhu in Clorinde’s team (if Clorinde uses 4pc Thundering Fury), and Yaoyao, Baizhu, or Kirara in Sethos’s team.

Sample Rotation (Clorinde)
Fischl N2 Q > Nahida EQ > Sucrose ED (Q) N1 > Clorinde combo > Fischl N1 E > Sucrose ED (Q) N1 > Clorinde combo > Sucrose N1C > Clorinde (Q)

Sample Rotation (Sethos)
Nahida E Q > Fischl E/Q > Sucrose ED > Sethos combo (> Nahida combo)1

1In a Charged Shot playstyle, Nahida takes the field at the end of the rotation.

Hyperbloom

Sucrose — Dendro — Hydro — Electro

Sucrose is a potent on-field driver in Hyperbloom teams. She can use Electro Swirls to trigger Hyperbloom, which scales with character level and EM (both of which Sucrose already prioritizes). She also deals noticeable Aggravate damage via her Aggravated Electro Swirls. Some teams may be considered “Quickbloom” since they have increased Quicken uptime and lower Dendro Core production.
In Hyperbloom teams with Sucrose as the on-fielder, all of Sucrose’s teammates are off-field Elemental appliers. Hyperbloom teams without Sucrose as the on-fielder, without Sucrose as the main Hyperbloom trigger, or both, are viable, but generally less effective and therefore less recommended.

Example Teams

Sucrose — Lauma / Nahida — Kokomi — Fischl

This Hyperbloom team has excellent AoE Dendro and Hydro application, which enables high Dendro Core production. Fischl is by far the best off-field Electro option in this team as she steals few Hyperblooms from Sucrose and provides substantial personal damage.

Sample Rotation
This team has a fairly flexible rotation. Kokomi needs to refresh her jellyfish with her Burst to maintain constant off-field Hydro application. Fischl should maintain uptime on Oz by alternating use of her Skill and Burst.

Sucrose — Dendro Traveler — Xingqiu — Beidou

Beidou’s Burst never targets Dendro Cores, so she never steals Hyperblooms from Sucrose. Xingqiu and Beidou’s combined defensive utility is typically enough to survive most content (especially if you dodge occasionally).

Dendro Traveler and Xingqiu ideally both hold Favonius Sword to lower the team’s ER requirements. Beidou may hold Favonius Greatsword as well.

Sample Rotation
Xingqiu ED Q N1 > Traveler EQD N1 > Beidou EQ > Sucrose ED (Q) combo1

1Sucrose’s ideal Beidou-driving combo is N2W, but N4 is also fine.

Vaporize / Forward Melt

Sucrose – Pyro – Hydro / Cryo – Flex

Vaporize and Melt DPS units value Sucrose’s EM buff, 4pc VV RES Shred, and potential weapon buffs (like TTDS). Use of Sucrose’s Burst requires careful rotation planning and attention to her Burst’s positioning in order to capitalize on its application and better EM buff uptime.
Some teams have specific setups to enable Pyro Swirls or Double Swirls consistently.

Example Teams

Sucrose – Mavuika – Mualani – Mona

This is Mualani’s strongest Vaporize team, which uses Mavuika for Pyro application, Sucrose for VV RES Shred and EM buffs, and Mona for strong DMG% buffs and Hydro Resonance. Mona should hold Prototype Amber (and optionally a Healing Bonus Circlet) for sustain.

Sample Rotation
Mona E > Mavuika Q E N1 > Mona Q N3 > Sucrose E N1 > Mualani combo

Sucrose – Arlecchino / Mavuika / Gaming – Citlali – Bennett

This team, focused on a Pyro DPS unit, utilizes Sucrose’s EM buffs and RES Shred to support Melt, enabled by Citlali.

Using Sucrose with Mavuika instead of a Natlan unit can have issues when the rotation ends too early, as Mavuika and Citlali don’t have enough time to generate Fighting Spirit.

Rosaria may replace Citlali in any of the variants.

Sample Rotation (Arlecchino)
Arlecchino E > Bennett EQ > Sucrose ED > Citlali EQ > Arlecchino CD1 6[N3D]

Sample Rotation (Mavuika)
Mavuika tE > Bennett EQ > Sucrose ED > Citlali EQ (N1) > Mavuika Q Melt combo

Sample Rotation (Gaming)
Gaming EP > Bennett EQ > Sucrose ED > Citlali EQ > Gaming combo

1Cancel the Charged Attack before it hits the enemy by dashing.

Sucrose — Xiangling — Neuvillette — Xilonen

Neuvillette takes advantage of Forward Vape to amplify his damage. Bringing Sucrose is beneficial to ensure a Pyro aura via Pyro Absorption. Only use Sucrose’s Burst if it will absorb Pyro, as non-Pyro Elemental Application will cause you to lose Vaporize triggers.

Sample Rotation
Neuvillette E N1 > Xilonen N1 E N2 > Sucrose ED (ED) N1 > Xiangling N1 Q ED > Neuvillette C Q E C > Xilonen E N2 > Sucrose ED (Q)1 > Xiangling N2 ED > Neuvillette 2[C]

Sucrose — Xiangling — Tartaglia — Bennett

This is a strong team where Tartaglia’s Hydro application enables Xiangling’s off-field Pyro damage to Vaporize. It is highly versatile, as it has multiple sources of Elemental damage and works in both single-target and multi-target combat.

Sample Rotation (First Rotation)
Tartaglia E N2 > Bennett Q > Xiangling E > Sucrose ED N1 > Xiangling Q > Tartaglia Q E1 6[N2C(J)2]

Sample Rotation (Second Rotation Onwards)
Bennett E > Xiangling E > Tartaglia C > 2[Bennett E > Xiangling N33 > Tartaglia C] > Xiangling E > Sucrose E4D N1 > Bennett Q > Xiangling Q E > Tartaglia Q E 6[N2C(J)2]

1Re-entering Melee Stance too quickly will Vape Stance Change instead of Ranged Burst.
2Using some Jump Cancels leaves you with some stamina for emergency dashes later on.
3Catch Bennett’s particles. Can be replaced with a dash if needed, dash toward particles if so.4Skill on Guoba and Enemy to trigger double VV. Skill must hit both Guoba and the enemy to trigger Pyro VV. N1 will Pyro Swirl if done correctly; otherwise, it will Swirl an enemy without an aura, and you will lack Pyro VV. For more information on Swirling Gouba, please refer to the Xiangling Extended Guide.

General Support

Sucrose — Flex — Flex — Flex

Sucrose’s low field time, large EM buff, and array of potential buffs from weapons and artifacts like TTDS and VV make her a viable fit for many teams.

Example Teams

This is not a comprehensive list of teams. The inclusion or exclusion of any given team does not necessarily reflect its power level.

Sucrose — Varka — Durin — Bennett

Sucrose is a viable alternative to Venti in Varka’s best team.

Sample Rotation
Durin 2[E]Q > Bennett EQ > Sucrose (Q)1 ED > Varka E combo

¹Burst when available.

Sucrose — Lauma — Columbina — Nefer

Sucrose acts as a strong EM buffer alongside Nefer’s best supports in this Nefer Hypercarry team.

Sucrose can hold 4pc Instructor, allowing her to provide another EM buff, or she can hold 4pc Deepwood. If Sucrose holds 4pc Instructor, Lauma can hold 4pc Deepwood, and Columbina can hold 4pc SMS. If Sucrose holds 4pc Deepwood, Lauma can hold 4pc SMS, and Columbina can hold 4pc Aubade of Morningstar and Moon. In order to take advantage of 4pc Instructor’s buff, Sucrose requires careful planning to successfully Swirl Hydro.

Nahida and Aino can replace Lauma and Columbina, respectively.

Sample Rotation (4pc Deepwood Sucrose)
(Nefer E)1 > Columbina E Q > Lauma (N1)¹ Q hE > Sucrose E > Nefer combo > Sucrose E

Sample Rotation (4pc Instructor Sucrose)
Lauma Q hE > Columbina Q E > Sucrose N1 E > Nefer combo > Sucrose E/Q > Lauma Q hE > Columbina C Q E > Sucrose N1 E > Nefer combo

1First rotation only.
²Wait a bit before casting Columbina’s Burst if it is inconsistent to Swirl Hydro with Sucrose afterwards.
